Who is this mask intended for?

It is suitable for normal, dry, very dry, combination and oily skin when additional moisture is required. It may be particularly useful when the skin feels tight, tired, rough, dull or temporarily dehydrated because of weather, travel, heating, air conditioning or an intensive skincare routine.

Dehydrated skin is not the same as dry skin

Dehydrated skin lacks water, while dry skin primarily lacks protective lipids. Combination and oily skin may therefore also become dehydrated. Rilastil Aqua Mask combines humectants that attract water with lipid and occlusive ingredients that help retain it.

Manufacturer test result

• Skin hydration increased by 78.5%.

The test involved 20 volunteers. The mask was left on for 15 minutes, and hydration was assessed 30 minutes after application. The result is a study average and individual effects may vary.

Directions for use

1. Cleanse the face and neck thoroughly but gently.
2. Apply an even and sufficiently generous layer to dry skin.
3. Avoid the eye contour, eyelids and lips.
4. Leave the mask on for approximately 15 minutes.
5. Rinse with lukewarm water and gently pat the skin dry.
6. Continue with a serum or moisturising cream when required.

When the directions on the physical packaging specify 5–15 minutes or removal of excess with a cotton pad, follow the instructions supplied with that particular pack.

How often should the mask be used?

• Normal, combination and oily skin: at least once weekly or when required.
• Dry and very dry skin: up to twice weekly.
• Skin exposed to sun, wind, cold or dry air: temporarily up to twice weekly when well tolerated.

Important warnings

• For external use only.
• Do not apply directly to the eye contour, eyelids, lips or mucous membranes.
• Rinse thoroughly with water if the product enters the eyes.
• Do not apply to open, infected, damaged or severely irritated skin.
• The formula contains fragrance.
• Highly reactive skin should test tolerance on a small area first.
• Avoid aggressive exfoliation immediately before use when the skin is already irritated.
• Oily or blemish-prone skin should assess whether the rich, occlusive texture is suitable.
• Discontinue use if severe itching, rash, swelling, marked stinging or persistent redness occurs.
• The mask is a cosmetic moisturising treatment and is not therapy for eczema, psoriasis or other skin diseases.
• Keep tightly closed and protected from direct light and heat.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Pharmacist’s advice

Apply the mask to thoroughly cleansed skin but avoid aggressive exfoliation immediately beforehand. Dry skin may follow rinsing with a serum and cream to help retain moisture. Combination skin may apply the mask only to dehydrated areas.

Dehydration may also occur in oily skin. Use a thinner layer and observe how the skin responds to the richer texture. The mask may soften the appearance of fine dehydration lines, but it does not permanently remove wrinkles.
