PharmaS PROBalans, 10 capsules, is a food supplement combining three carefully selected bacterial strains with chamomile flower extract, peppermint leaf extract, zinc and vitamin B6. The formula is intended to support normal digestion, metabolism and the balance of the intestinal microbiota.

PROBalans may be a practical choice during bloating, gas, abdominal discomfort or changes in intestinal flora associated with diet, stress, travelling or antibiotic use. The bacterial cultures are contained in a gastro-resistant vegetable capsule designed to pass through the acidic environment of the stomach.

How do the ingredients in PharmaS PROBalans work?

Lactobacillus acidophilus LA3, Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BLC1 and Lactobacillus casei BGP93 provide a combination of beneficial bacteria intended to support the balance of the intestinal microbiota. Gut flora may become disturbed by poor diet, stress, travelling, infections or antibiotic treatment.

Chamomile flower extract provides apigenin, a plant flavonoid with antioxidant properties. Chamomile has traditionally been used during abdominal tension, cramping and digestive discomfort.

Peppermint leaf extract is traditionally used to support digestion during bloating, gas and a feeling of heaviness after eating.

Zinc contributes to normal acid-base, carbohydrate, fatty acid and macronutrient metabolism and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Vitamin B6 contributes to normal protein and glycogen metabolism.

Who is the product intended for?

Adults and children over six years of age who require support during disturbed intestinal flora, bloating, gas or digestive discomfort, including during and after antibiotic therapy. The product is not recommended for children under six years.

Directions for use and precautions

Adults and children over 12 years: 2 capsules daily, one in the morning and one in the evening.
Children aged 6–12 years: 1 capsule daily in the morning.
Take with half a glass of liquid, independently of meals.
Use for at least 10 days to achieve the intended effect.
During antibiotic therapy, take PROBalans at least 3 hours after the antibiotic.
Do not take with hot drinks, as high temperatures may reduce the activity of the bacterial cultures.

Important information

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to chamomile, peppermint or another ingredient.
Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Not recommended for children under six years.
A food supplement does not replace a varied and balanced diet.
Do not take the capsules with alcohol or very hot drinks.
Seek medical advice in case of blood in the stool, high fever, severe abdominal pain, marked dehydration or persistent diarrhoea.

PROBalans is more than a basic bacterial culture supplement because it also contains botanical extracts, zinc and vitamin B6. Lactobacillus acidophilus LA3, Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BLC1 and Lactobacillus casei BGP93 – at least 1 billion CFU at the time of manufacture.
