ISLA MOSS 30 lozenges contain Icelandic moss extract and are intended to protect, moisturise and soothe irritated mucous membranes in the mouth, throat and pharynx. The lozenges dissolve slowly in the mouth and form a protective layer that helps relieve dry, irritating cough, hoarseness, throat irritation and an unpleasant feeling of dryness.

ISLA MOSS is particularly practical for people who speak or sing frequently, spend time in air-conditioned or heated rooms, breathe through the mouth because of a blocked nose, or are regularly exposed to dry air, dust and cigarette smoke.

How do ISLA MOSS lozenges work?

Icelandic moss (Cetraria islandica) contains natural mucilage that is released as the lozenge dissolves slowly in the mouth. These substances spread evenly across the mucous membrane and form a pleasant protective film.

The protective layer helps retain moisture, reduces direct contact with dry air and other irritating influences, and allows the sensitive mucous membrane to recover gradually.

ISLA MOSS does not act as an antibiotic or as a medicine that blocks the cough reflex. Its main purpose is the physical protection, moisturising and soothing of irritated mucous membranes.

When are ISLA MOSS lozenges used?

for dry and irritating cough,
for a scratchy and dry throat,
for temporary hoarseness,
after prolonged speaking, lecturing or singing,
when spending time in air-conditioned or heated rooms,
for dryness of the mouth and pharynx,
when breathing through the mouth because of a blocked nose,
when exposed to dust, smog and cigarette smoke.

Important: ISLA MOSS relieves irritation and protects the mucous membrane, but it is not intended to treat bacterial tonsillitis, pneumonia or other serious respiratory infections.

Ingredients

One lozenge contains:

80 mg of aqueous Icelandic moss extract (Cetraria islandica), extraction ratio 0.4–0.8:1.

Other ingredients: gum arabic, sucrose, light liquid paraffin, caramel colour E150 and purified water.

One lozenge contains approximately 424 mg of sucrose, equivalent to around 0.035 bread units.

Sugar information: Original ISLA MOSS lozenges contain sucrose and are not sugar-free. People with diabetes or intolerance to certain sugars should check the label and consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Directions for use

Adults and children over four years of age: slowly dissolve one to two lozenges in the mouth several times a day as required.

Do not chew or swallow the lozenge whole. Allow it to dissolve slowly so that the Icelandic moss mucilage spreads evenly across the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.

Children should use the product only when they are able to suck a lozenge independently and safely, without a risk of choking.

How long may the lozenges be used?

ISLA MOSS lozenges may be used for a prolonged period when required. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if there is no improvement after ten days, symptoms worsen or frequently return.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding

According to the manufacturer’s instructions, there are no available data indicating harmful effects during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Prior consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is recommended in cases of chronic illness or regular medication use.

Warnings and precautions

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to Icelandic moss or any other ingredient.
The product is not intended for children under four years of age.
The child must be able to suck the lozenge independently and safely.
People with intolerance to sugars should consult a doctor before use.
Hypersensitivity reactions may occur in isolated cases.

Allow the lozenge to dissolve as slowly as possible in the mouth. Chewing or swallowing it quickly reduces the contact time between Icelandic moss extract and the mucous membrane, limiting the practical benefit of the protective film.

For a dry and irritated throat, increase your water intake, ventilate the room regularly and use a humidifier when necessary. Avoid cigarette smoke, very cold or hot drinks and unnecessary vocal strain.

Do not whisper when hoarse, as whispering may place additional strain on the vocal cords. Speak quietly and calmly and take breaks during prolonged speaking.

Consult a doctor if you experience a high temperature, difficulty breathing or swallowing, pronounced throat swelling, pus on the tonsils, blood in sputum, severe pain or symptoms lasting longer than ten days.
