Prolife PN Basic Compressor Nebulizer is a medical device designed to convert a suitable liquid inhalation solution into fine aerosol particles that can be inhaled through a mask or mouthpiece.

The device is suitable for home inhalation therapy in children and adults, according to medical advice and the original instructions for use. Its compressor technology provides reliable nebulisation without batteries, as the device operates directly from the mains supply.

Prolife PN Basic produces an aerosol with a mass median aerodynamic diameter, or MMAD, of approximately 3.07 µm. The nebulisation rate is approximately 0.35 ml per minute, while the medicine cup has a maximum capacity of 8 ml.

The set contains a child mask, adult mask, mouthpiece, nosepiece and five replacement air filters. Different family members may use the main device, but personal accessories should be kept separate and all reusable components must be cleaned correctly.

Pharmacist’s advice

A mouthpiece is generally preferred for inhaled medication when the user’s age and condition allow correct use. A mask is more practical for small children but must fit closely to reduce aerosol loss.

Remain seated upright and hold the medicine cup in the position specified in the instructions. Tilting the cup or spilling the solution may reduce aerosol output and affect treatment.

After using an inhaled corticosteroid, rinse the mouth with water. When a mask is used, also wash the skin around the mouth and nose to reduce local irritation.

Clean the nebulizer kit after every treatment. Residual solution and moisture may support microbial growth and interfere with aerosol production.

Do not automatically dilute medicines with saline. Medicine combinations, dilution and the order of treatments must follow medical or pharmaceutical advice.

A nebulizer enables administration of recommended inhalation therapy but does not replace medical assessment. Rapid or laboured breathing, chest retractions, choking or poor general condition require prompt medical attention.
