Measure the circumference of your waist where the belt will be worn, without holding in the stomach or pulling the measuring tape too tightly. If you intend to wear the belt over clothing, measure over a similar layer of clothing.

A lumbar belt may be useful when temporary support is needed during work, prolonged standing or activities that place additional strain on the lower back. However, tighter compression does not automatically mean better protection. The belt should provide stability without causing pressure, numbness or restricted breathing.

Wear it over a thin cotton shirt if direct skin contact causes sweating or friction. A lumbar belt is not a substitute for strengthening the trunk muscles, correct lifting technique, physiotherapy or medical assessment when pain persists, travels down the leg or is accompanied by neurological symptoms.
