Note on sodium and salt

The current public Nutriversum and Lama tables state 600mg sodium per serving while simultaneously displaying 0g salt in the nutrition table. These values are not mutually consistent, so the salt value in the shop admin should be taken from the physical label of the actual pack.

Why are electrolytes relevant during physical activity?

During sweating, the body loses water and certain minerals. How much needs to be replaced depends on the duration and intensity of activity, temperature, sweating rate, diet and individual requirements.

Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance and normal muscle function, while potassium contributes to normal muscle and nervous-system function. An electrolyte drink can therefore be a convenient part of a sports routine, particularly during longer activity and heavier sweating.

More than a basic electrolyte drink

In addition to minerals, Electrolyte Powder provides 2000mg L-carnitine and 1000mg BCAA per serving. The BCAA portion consists of L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine in a 2:1:1 ratio.

It is therefore not the same as a basic sodium, potassium and magnesium blend. When comparing electrolyte products, check the complete declaration rather than only the total powder weight.

For shorter and easier workouts, plain water and a varied diet may often be sufficient. Additional electrolytes become more relevant during longer activities, heavier sweating, high temperatures and individually greater fluid and mineral losses.

Nutriversum Electrolyte Powder is a more complex sports formula than a basic electrolyte powder because, in addition to minerals, it provides L-carnitine, BCAA, vitamin C and green tea extract.

If you already use BCAA, L-carnitine or another intra-workout product, check the amounts to avoid unnecessarily duplicating the same ingredients.

People taking diuretics or medicines that may alter potassium, sodium or magnesium levels should not introduce concentrated electrolyte supplements without professional advice.
