CITIZEN CHU305 Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor is a fully automatic digital device designed for convenient home monitoring of systolic and diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate. It uses the oscillometric measurement method and includes a wide-range cuff suitable for upper-arm circumferences from 22 to 42 cm.

The CHU305 stores up to 99 previous readings and calculates the average of the last three measurements, making it easier to follow blood-pressure trends over time. The large LCD displays blood pressure, pulse, date and time.

The device also features a hypertension indicator and irregular heartbeat indicator. CITIZEN states that the CHU305 is clinically validated according to the ESH protocol.

Directions: apply the cuff to the upper arm according to the manufacturer's instructions. Sit calmly with your back supported, feet on the floor and the arm supported so that the cuff is approximately at heart level. Press START/STOP and remain still and silent during measurement.

Pharmacist's advice: a series of correctly performed readings is more useful than drawing conclusions from a single measurement. Measure at approximately the same time, on the same arm and under calm conditions. The irregular-heartbeat indicator can flag irregularity during a measurement but does not diagnose an arrhythmia.
