Teeth whitening products belong to the Oral hygiene category and are intended for cosmetic dental care, surface stain removal and maintaining a brighter smile. They are used as an addition to regular tooth brushing, proper interdental cleaning and regular dental check-ups.

This category includes activated charcoal products and teeth whitening strips. These products may help with surface stains caused by food, drinks, coffee, tea or tobacco, but the result depends on natural tooth color, enamel condition, habits and correct product use.

Teeth whitening products should not be overused. In cases of sensitive teeth, damaged enamel, cavities, bleeding gums, pain or dental restorations, previous dental advice is recommended.

Whitening strips should not be applied to damaged teeth, inflamed gums or oral mucosa. If pain, stinging, increased sensitivity, bleeding gums or irritation appears, stop use and consult a dentist.
