Viatris is a global pharmaceutical and healthcare company founded in November 2020 by the merger of Mylan and Upjohn, formerly a division of Pfizer. The goal of the establishment was to unite expertise, production capacities, regulatory and commercial opportunities in order to ensure access to high-quality medicines in as many countries as possible.
The name Viatris comes from the Latin words *via* (way) and *tris* (three), and symbolizes three basic ambitions: to expand access to medicines, to lead innovation to meet the needs of patients and to build the trust of the healthcare community around the world.
