How does Urelia 10 cream with 10% urea help very dry, flaky and rough skin on the face and body?

Urelia 10 is a moisturising and exfoliating cream from the French dermocosmetic brand ISISPHARMA, made for very dry skin that tends to flake, scale or thicken (keratosis). It combines 10% urea with fruit acids (AHA) and nourishing lipids, so that it hydrates and at the same time helps to loosen the fine scales that make dry skin feel rough.

According to the manufacturer, urea binds water in the skin, the fruit acids gently remove scales from the surface, while shea butter, beeswax and glycerin help restore the lipid barrier and reduce dryness. The formula also contains a patented complex of amino acids and a postbiotic, intended to support the balance of the skin flora.

The cream can be used on the face and body and, according to the brand's distributors, is suitable for the whole family from birth. It is fragrance-free and dermatologically tested. This page refers to the 150 ml tube – a size intended for regular care of larger areas.

How to use

Apply 1–2 times a day to clean, dry skin on the affected areas – ideally after a bath or shower.

Who is it for?

Urelia 10 is intended for very dry skin that is flaky, scaly or prone to keratosis – for example rough skin on the arms, legs and body or dry, flaky patches on the face. According to the manufacturer it can be used by the whole family, including infants and pregnant women. It is not a medicine and does not replace treatment of skin diseases prescribed by a doctor.

Important notes

For external use only; avoid contact with the eyes.
Urea and fruit acids may cause a brief tingling on cracked or freshly scratched skin – do not apply to open wounds.
Stop use if redness or irritation occurs.
Keep out of the reach of children.

Pharmacist's advice:

Urea creams work best when used regularly and on skin that is still slightly moist after washing – this is when the skin takes up and retains water most easily. For very dry skin, two applications a day for the first few weeks usually bring the most noticeable softening; afterwards one daily application is often enough to maintain the result.

If the skin is also cracked, red, itchy or weeping, or if dryness appeared suddenly, have it checked by a doctor or pharmacist – such changes may indicate eczema, psoriasis or another skin condition that needs specific treatment. For very thick, localised areas such as heels or elbows, a more concentrated urea product is usually a better choice.
