How does the Pic Solution aneroid blood pressure monitor work and who is it for?

The Pic Solution aneroid blood pressure monitor is a kit for manual (auscultatory) blood pressure measurement from the Italian manufacturer Pikdare. It consists of an aneroid gauge with cuff and inflation bulb, a stethoscope and a practical carry case. It is intended for both professional and home use.

Unlike digital devices, an aneroid monitor does not need batteries: the cuff is inflated by hand with the bulb, and the pressure is read on the gauge scale while you listen through the stethoscope to the sounds of blood flow in the upper-arm artery. This is why the method is still part of the standard equipment of doctors and nurses.

The gauge has a 50 mm dial and can be attached to the cuff, and the cuff closes with hook-and-loop fastening and has a stopper. The kit also includes a high-sensitivity stethoscope, and everything is stored in a zipped case.

How to use

Before the first use, read the manufacturer's instructions in the pack carefully. The auscultatory method takes some practice, so it is best to learn it the first time with a doctor or nurse. In general, the measurement works as follows:

  • Sit down, rest for a few minutes and rest your arm on a table so that the cuff is at heart level.
  • Place the cuff on the bare upper arm and close it with the hook-and-loop fastening so that it fits snugly but not too tightly.
  • Place the stethoscope's diaphragm on the inside of the elbow, over the artery, and inflate the cuff with the bulb.
  • Slowly release the air with the valve and watch the scale: the pressure at which you hear the first beats is the upper (systolic) value, and the pressure at which the sounds disappear is the lower (diastolic) value.

For goods ordered up to 5.000,00 RSD, delivery charge is 260.00 RSD (VAT included). For goods over 5.000,00 RSD, shipping is free of charge.

For international delivery:

For the export of goods abroad through the PostExport service of Post of Serbia, the shipping price is for:

  • Zone I (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia) - 1,280.00 RSD
  • Zone II (Other European countries) - 1,790.00 RSD

For export of goods abroad through DHL service, the shipping price is 2,700.00 RSD. Delivery time is 1-5 business days (depending on the country of delivery)
