PharmaS Hartikol Plus, 30 capsules, is a food supplement combining fermented red yeast rice, artichoke leaf extract, choline, thiamine and folic acid. It is intended for adults who require nutritional support for normal lipid metabolism, normal homocysteine metabolism and normal heart function.

Each capsule provides 2.9 mg of monacolins from fermented red yeast rice, 82.5 mg of choline, 155 mg of artichoke leaf extract, 1.1 mg of thiamine and 200 µg of folic acid. The product is taken once daily after the final meal.

How do the Hartikol Plus ingredients work?

Fermented red yeast rice is produced by fermenting rice with Monascus purpureus. It naturally contains monacolins. Products containing this ingredient must be used strictly at the recommended dose and must not be combined with statins or other red yeast rice supplements.

Choline contributes to normal lipid metabolism, normal homocysteine metabolism and the maintenance of normal liver function.

Thiamine, or vitamin B1, contributes to normal heart function and normal energy-yielding metabolism.

Folate contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism, normal blood formation and normal psychological function.

Artichoke leaf extract is traditionally included in products intended for digestive and fat-metabolism support. Each capsule provides 155 mg of extract standardised to 5% cynarin.

Directions for use and mandatory warnings

Adults: take one capsule daily after the final meal with half a glass of water.

Important warnings for products containing monacolins

Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Not intended for people under 18 or over 70 years of age.
Do not use if you take statins or other cholesterol-lowering medicines.
Do not combine with another product containing red yeast rice or monacolins.
Seek medical advice before use if you have any health problem or regularly take medication.
Extra caution is required in liver or kidney disease, muscle disorders or previous statin intolerance.
Stop use and seek medical advice in case of unexplained muscle pain, weakness or cramps, dark urine, pronounced fatigue, nausea or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
Avoid grapefruit and excessive alcohol consumption.

Do not add Hartikol Plus to existing cholesterol treatment without medical approval.
