What makes MartiDerm Proteos Hydra Plus SP ampoules different and who are they for?

MartiDerm Proteos Hydra Plus SP is a day treatment in ampoules from The Originals line of the Spanish brand MartiDerm, designed for normal to combination skin. Each pack contains 30 single ampoules of 2 ml, and the formula combines proteoglycans, pure vitamin C and UVA/UVB filters with SPF 15.

According to the manufacturer and authorised retailers, the ampoules hydrate and smooth the skin, add radiance and support a firmer, more supple look of the face, neck and décolleté. Proteoglycans can hold many times their own weight in water, while vitamin C provides antioxidant care and helps brighten the complexion.

Compared with the classic Proteos Hydra Plus for dry skin, the SP version is intended for normal to combination skin, leaves no greasy residue and contains a sun filter. SPF 15 offers only light daily protection and does not replace a sunscreen with a higher factor.

How to use

Gently shake the ampoule, place it on a flat surface, put the Easy Open on top and press lightly until you hear a click. Remove the Easy Open and the top of the ampoule and attach the dispenser.

Pour half of the contents into your hand and apply to clean skin of the face, neck and décolleté, preferably in the morning, and massage gently until absorbed. Close the ampoule with the cap and use the rest the next day. Then apply your usual day cream or make-up; on days with more sun exposure, add a sunscreen with a higher factor.

Who is it for?

Proteos Hydra Plus SP is intended for adults with normal to combination skin who notice the first fine lines, dullness or loss of firmness and want a light, non-greasy daily step for hydration and radiance. For dry skin, MartiDerm offers the classic Proteos Hydra Plus version.

Important notes

SPF 15 is not enough on its own for longer sun exposure – use a sunscreen with a higher factor on those days.
After opening, store the ampoule closed with the cap in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and use it within 2 days.
For external use only; avoid contact with the eyes. Sensitive skin may feel slight tingling at first – if irritation persists, stop using the product.

Pharmacist's advice:

The SP version is a good choice for mornings, because it hydrates without weighing the skin down and works well under make-up. Still, treat SPF 15 as a bonus rather than real sun protection: in spring and summer, or if you are prone to pigmentation, add a sunscreen with SPF 50 as the last step. Combination skin usually needs only a light moisturiser over the ampoule, mainly on the drier cheeks.
