A-Cerumen 10 × 2 ml is a single-dose ear solution intended for regular hygiene of the external ear canal and for softening and facilitating the removal of excess earwax. Mild plant-based surfactants help moisten, soften and loosen accumulated cerumen so that it can be removed more easily.

The product may be used preventively to maintain ear hygiene and help prevent earwax plugs, or for several consecutive days when an earwax plug has already formed. The single-dose containers are practical for travel, occasional use and situations where each dose should remain sealed until application.

A-Cerumen is intended for adults and children from 6 months of age. It is not a medicine for ear infection, inflammation, pain or another ear disorder and should not be used when symptoms require medical assessment.

Directions for regular ear hygiene: Use twice a week. Tilt the head away from the ear being treated so that the treated ear faces upwards. Instil half the contents of one single-dose container into the ear. Gently massage the base of the ear and leave the solution in contact for approximately one minute.

Then tilt the head to allow the solution and earwax residue to drain out. Rinse the ear with sterile saline solution or clean water and wipe away any excess liquid. If the second ear also requires treatment, repeat the procedure using the remaining half of the container.

Use for an earwax plug: According to the instructions, the solution may be used in the morning and evening for 3–4 consecutive days. If the blocked sensation, reduced hearing or discomfort persists, consult a doctor or an ear, nose and throat specialist.

Open the single-dose container immediately before use. Do not keep an opened container for later use because of the risk of bacterial contamination. Do not use a container that has already been opened or is damaged.

Important warning:

Do not use A-Cerumen in cases of a perforated or damaged eardrum, an ear infection or inserted ventilation tubes. Seek medical advice in cases of ear pain, fever, dizziness, sudden hearing reduction, bleeding, pus or other discharge from the ear.

Do not insert the tip of the single-dose container deeply into the ear canal, as this may injure or irritate the skin. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not swallow the solution. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any ingredient.

Before use in children, particularly young children who cannot clearly describe their symptoms, ensure that there is no pain, infection, discharge or previously diagnosed damage to the eardrum.

Earwax has a protective function when present in normal amounts and does not need to be completely removed. A problem occurs when it builds up excessively, becomes impacted and causes a blocked sensation or reduced hearing. Cotton buds frequently push wax deeper and may injure the ear canal or eardrum.

If the ear remains blocked after 3–4 days of correct use, do not extend the treatment or attempt to remove the plug with tweezers, cotton buds or another object. An examination is required to determine whether the cause is earwax, infection, a foreign object or another condition.
