SYSTANE™ COMPLETE Preservative-Free Lubricant Eye Drops – 10 ml are sterile eye drops designed to lubricate, moisturise and protect the ocular surface in people with dry-eye symptoms. They can help relieve dryness, burning, stinging, scratchiness, a gritty sensation and discomfort associated with screen use, air conditioning, wind and dry environments.

The formula is a sterile white nanoemulsion combining propylene glycol, HP-Guar and lipid components. It is designed to support different components of the tear film, including the lipid component responsible for limiting excessive tear evaporation.

Alcon positions preservative-free SYSTANE™ COMPLETE for different types of dry eye, including aqueous-deficient, evaporative and mixed dry eye. The manufacturer reports clinically demonstrated relief of dry-eye symptoms for up to 8 hours.

Ingredients: propylene glycol, hydroxypropyl guar, mineral oil, dimyristoyl phosphatidylglycerol, polyoxyl 40 stearate, sorbitan tristearate, boric acid, sorbitol and purified water. May contain hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide to adjust pH.

Directions: shake well before use. Place 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye or eyes as needed and blink.

Contact lenses: the preservative-free formulation may be used before inserting contact lenses and after removing them. Follow the instructions supplied with the product for your specific lens type.

Pack: 10 ml.

Pharmacist's advice: preservative-free artificial tears are particularly useful when drops are required frequently or when the ocular surface is sensitive. During prolonged screen use, take regular breaks and blink fully and frequently. Persistent daily dryness despite regular lubricant use should be assessed by an eye-care professional to rule out conditions such as meibomian gland dysfunction or blepharitis.
