Pino Marta's Mystery Box (Serbian „Martina zagonetna kutija“, item number 8538, EAN 8606009258538) is a set of three games from the Serbian brand Pino, developed together with the children's writer Uroš Petrović and inspired by his book series about the green-haired girl Marta Smart.

The box contains Marta's Interesting Geography, the board game The Mysterious Eight and a Pino wooden brain teaser. According to the maker, the game won the Serbian „Dobra igračka“ (Good Toy) award as the best toy of 2016; retailers mark it for players aged 7 and up.

How to play and care

In Marta's Interesting Geography each player has a pencil and an answer sheet. The two dice – one with numbers, one with arrows – decide at which position a given letter must appear in each term (country, city and so on); players have three minutes to fill in the fields, and each correct answer scores as many points as the letter's position.

In The Mysterious Eight the tokens race around the board; on each field a player has one minute to name a term from that field's category with the letter in the required position, a wrong answer sends the token back, and to win a player must land exactly on START. The wooden brain teaser from Marta's Mystery Box is solved independently of the two other games.

Store the 8538 box in a dry place and wipe the parts with a dry or slightly damp cloth, as the retailer advises.

Who is it for?

Retailers mark Marta's Mystery Box for children from 7 years (one retailer gives 8 years) and adults. The instructions suggest dice with numbers 1 to 3 for younger players and beginners and 1 to 6 for more experienced players, and invite parents to join in.
