Naturoplex Cranberry, 20 capsules is a dietary supplement containing whole North American cranberry fruit, intended for daily nutritional support of the urinary tract and bladder.
Each capsule provides 250 mg of powdered Vaccinium macrocarpon cranberry fruit, standardised to at least 7.2% proanthocyanidins. The whole-fruit formula provides a broader range of naturally occurring cranberry components than a product containing only an isolated extract.
Cranberry proanthocyanidins may make it more difficult for certain bacteria, particularly Escherichia coli, to adhere to the urinary tract lining. Cranberry products are therefore generally considered as complementary support for people prone to recurrent urinary tract infections, rather than treatment for an established bacterial infection.

It does not replace urinalysis, urine culture, medical assessment or prescribed antibiotic treatment.
People taking warfarin or another anticoagulant should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using concentrated cranberry supplements.
Caution is required in people with a current or previous history of kidney stones, particularly oxalate stones, and in people with reduced kidney function.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use concentrated cranberry supplements without medical advice. Do not give the product to children younger than the age stated on the specific pack.
Do not automatically combine it with other high-strength cranberry, D-mannose or herbal urinary products without reviewing the complete regimen.
Larger amounts of cranberry may cause nausea, gastrointestinal discomfort or diarrhoea in sensitive individuals.
Seek urgent medical advice in cases of fever with chills, flank or back pain, blood in the urine, vomiting, pregnancy with urinary symptoms, inability to urinate or sudden worsening.
Cranberry is more suitable for ongoing support and reducing the risk of recurrent complaints than for the independent treatment of an acute infection. Burning, pain and frequent urination, particularly with fever, require timely investigation.
For recurrent infections, a urine culture before antibiotic treatment can identify the causative organism and its antibiotic sensitivity. Avoid using leftover antibiotics without medical advice.
Regular urination, adequate hydration, avoiding prolonged urine retention and urinating after sexual intercourse may form part of a preventive routine.
