Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) is a plant in the family Asteraceae and one of the most famous medicinal plants present in almost every household. Najlekovitiji flowers glavičaste are collected in inflorescence.

The use of tea from these plants is reflected in the treatment of želudačno-intestinal diseases (gastritis, entertis, bloating, cramping, colitis), neurodepresija and disorders of the uterus.

Externally it is used against inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes, for inhalation, making herbal baths. Possesses a good antibacterial, antiviral and fungicidna effects.

Preparation

Taking a čajšiku ® blooming camomile tea, close the cover and wet underneath of cold water (this is important to cell membranes burst and multiple active components are acquitted, are also in this way prevents the flotation device najsitnih particles and their plutanjenje by area.) Čajšiku down to the prokuvane and 200 ml of warm water. After 5-10 minutes to drink one Cup three times a day. There is no limit to the length of drinking Chamomile tea.

Dosing

infuz 1-1.5 g 3-4 times a day

inhalation 2-3 g 5-10 min

An active substance and mechanism of medicinal effects

Active substances

chamazulene, alpha-bisabolol, flavonoids, and umbelliferone

apigenin-7-glucoside, luteolin, terpen, herniarin, matricin, hamazulene, (-)-alpha-bisabololoksidi A and B, (-)-alpha-bisabolol, patuletin, umbelliferone, quercetin, rutin and miricetin, spiroetri)

Anti-inflammatory effect

More ingredients Chamomile (apigenin-7-glucoside, luteolin, terpen, herniarin, matricin, hamazulene, (-)-alpha-bisabololoksidi A and B, (-)-alpha-bisabolol, patuletin, umbelliferone, quercetin, rutin and miricetin, spiroetri) have proven anti-inflammatory properties. Most of the studies proved that the extract in its entirety a stronger effect than its isolated components. (Patel, d., Shukla, s., and Gupta 2007)

Mechanism of effects of: In vitro chamomile extract inhibits ciklooksienazu and Lipoxygenase, and thus the prostaglandins and leukotriene. (H and H Hormann Korting 1994)

Antimicrobial effect

The results of in vitro studies are encouraging. Responsible for the antimicrobial effect is bisabolol. He combined with luteolinom, kvercitinom and apegininom with proven bactericidal and fungicidal effect. (Wagner, h., Proksch, a., Riess-Maurer, i., Vollmar, a., Odenthal, s., Stuppner, h., J Mysore, k., Le Turdu, m., and Fang, j. 1985) (Berry M 1995).

Two studies have shown that they are gram positive bacteria were more sensitive than the gram negative effect of Chamomile oil. (Aggag, m. e. and Yousef, r. t. 1972). The strongest effect of oil had the strains: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mutans, salivarius and Streptococcus; Bacillus megatherium, Leptospira icterohaemorrhagiae, and Trichomonocidalnu bacterial activity (Cinco M, Banfi E, Tubaro A, 1983.) And has partial activity of Candida albicans.

Interesting is the fact that the oil of Chamomile fully inhibiralo growing strain B Streptococcus. Two additional in vitro studies have shown that the extract of Chamomile usprečava of Helicobacter pylori (Annuk, h., Hirmo, s., Turi, e., m., Mikelsaar, Arak, e., and Wadstrom, T1999.) and several strains of Escherichia coli. (Turi, M., Trip, e., Koljalg, s., and m., Mikelsaar, 1997.) Isparljivi water ekstarkti showed strong antibacterial effect on Bacillus subtilis in vitro.

Chamazulene, alpha-bisabolol, flavonoids, and umbelliferone have antifungal properties on Trichophyton mentagrophytes andTrichophyton Rubrum. (Suganda, a. g., Amoros, m., Girre, l., and Fauconnier, 1983)

Effects with Neoplasms

Antineoplastic agents apigenina effect has been studied in animals where it is proven that highly absorbed UV light. (Li, b., Robinson, d. h., and Birt, d. f.  1997.) Apigenin suppresses 12-O-tetradecanoyl phorbol-13-acetate drug-induced tumor growth in mouse skin, presumably due to the inhibition of protein kinase C inhibits tumor cell azulen sukcinodehidrogenazu even more potent than the effects of the Green faction. (Burton h., 1959)

Seskviterpenoidi, nobilin, and his epoxy-and-dehydro derivatives showed antitumorku activity in human cells in vitro.

Antioxidants effect

Chamomile shows moderate antioxidant activity in vitro (McKay, d. l. and Bloomberg, J. B. 2006), mostly thanks to the compound apigeninu, which also shows anti-inflammatory properties.

Anksiolitički effect

Chamomile shows to some extent the effects of anksiolitičke. (McKay, d. l. and Bloomberg, J. B. 2006)

Effect on bones

Extract of Matricaria chamomile plant, Sideritis euboea, Sideritis clandestine, and Pimpinella anisum has effect against the osteoproze and that of SERM (selective estrogen receptor modulators). (Kassi, e., Papoutsi, z., Fokialakis, n., Messari, i., Mitakou, s., and p. Moutsatsou, 2004).

Mixtures is stimulated by osteoblastic differentiation of cells and showed a antiestrogeni effect on breast cancer cells, without the harmful side effects of the proliferation of cervical adenocarcinoma.

The effect on cardiac muscle

Apigenin can increase an heartbeat in rats. (Lorenzo, p. s., Rubio, m. c., Medina, j. h., and Adler-Graschinsky 1996) Apigenin relaxes the thoracic aorta because it reduces entry ions Ca2 + and through voltažne-through kalciumske channels and receptor, it has been shown in studies on animals. The dose of 0.2 mL/kg is already showing a hypotensive effect, as well as reducing heart attacks and pulmonary pressure. (Ikram, M.  1980)

Effect on Cytochrome P450

Raw ektrakt Chamomile has demonstrated inhibition of four enzymes cytochroma P450 enzymes (CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP2D6 and CYP3A4), with a team that was more sensitive than other CYP1A2 isomers. For this effect contributed chamazulene, cis-spiroetar and trans-spiroetar. Strongly inhibit the enzyme, and they're very active and by CYP3A4. CYP2C9 and CYP2D6 are, to a lesser extent, were blocked. (Ganzera, m., Schneider, p., and Stuppner, h. 2006)

Gastrointestinal effects

In vitro, alpha-bisabolol can inhibit the induction of indometacinom, stress or ethanol. (Szelenyi, i., Isaac, o., and Thiemer, k. 1979)

In a study with rats, bisabolol (from kamiličinog oil, chamomile oleum), taken orally in doses of 0.8 mg/kg and 80 mg/kg, he was able to protect the mucous membranes of the stomach of indukovane toxicity of acetylsalicylic acid at a dose of 200 mg/kg. CIS-spiroetar also has antiulcerativnu activity. Simultaneously entering f-apigenina significantly reduces transit time content in the intestines of mice. Apigenin (12.5-50 mg/kg) reduced diarrhea-induced fish oil. Alpha-bisabolol is diminished 50% proteolitičku activity pepsina. In a study on rats extract flower herb Matricaria recutita has significantly reduced the speed of the gastričnog transit (Capasso, r., Savino, f., and f. Capasso, 2007)

Hepatični effect

Chamomile oil can boost ekskreciju bile as well as the concentration of cholesterol in bilijarnoj liquids. This was proven after oral giving 0.1 mL/kg cats and dogs. Ability to volatile is compounds of Chamomile regenerišu liver in rats which removed part of the tissue is attributed to the most part azulenima.

Noticed an increase in oxidative phosphorylation in liver of rat mitohondrijama cells. (Thiemer V, Stadler R, and Isaac of 1973)

Hypoglycemic effect

Flavonoid glucosideis hamaemelosin, is hipoglikemičkoj activity in vivo by the same 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaričnoj acid (HMG). (König, m., Wright, a. d., Keller, w. j., Judd, r. l., Bates, s.s., and Day, C. 1998)

Effect on kidneys

Chamomile oil reduces the concentration of urea in the blood by rabbits which is experimentally induced through the uremičko State. (Grochulski, a. and Borkowski, b. 1972.)

In a study with rats vegetable combinations as and Chamomile flower showed significantly diuretički effect, even bigger than the suspension hidrohlortiazida. (Masteikova, r., Klimas, r., Sable, b. b., Savickas, a., Sable, b. a., Belaij, s. i., Sable, and b., Rabiskova, m., Chalupova, d., and Bernatoniene, j. 2007.)

Sedative effect

During the study that monitored the effects of kamilčnog extract on cardiac muscle noted that 10 of the 12 respondents asleep shortly after drinking Chamomile tea. However there is little evidence that could directly lead to the relationship and prove this effect. (Gould, l., Reddy, c. w., and Gomprecht, r. f. 1973)

In a study in mice has been reported that apigenin ligand for benzidiazepinske receptors and shows moderate sedating effect. (Viola, h., Wasowski, c., Left, de Stein, Wolfman, c., Silveira, r., Dajas, f., Medina, j. h., and Paladini, a. c.  1995)

Unlike diazepam hrizin and apigenin doesn't cause memory loss. Lyophilised infuz Chamomile applied peritoneal mice shows depressive effect on the CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM. (Della Loggia R, Travers, Scarcia V, 1982)

A study on in vitro Chamomile flower extract giving selectively stick to 5-HT 4 receptors. (Simmen, u., Kelber, o., Okpanyi, s. n., Jaeggi, r., Bueter, b., and Weiser, d. 2007)
Spazmolitički effect

Alpha-Bisabolol and apigenin are considered spazmoilticima. 10 mg Apigenina smanjjuje spasm in proportion to 1 mg papaverina. Flavonoids and coumarins are relaksanti muscle muscles, where coumarins, herniarin and umbelliferone have lower activity miorelaksanta. (Carl R Gomaa and k. 1992)

Multiple studies have shown even greater relaxation of the smooth musculature to isomers cis-spiroetra. (Holzl, j., Ghassemi, n., and Hahn, b. 1986)

There have been poajčanje uterine tone in oral approval of water extracts of Chamomile guinea pigs and zečavima at a concentration of 1-2 mg/cm3. Farnezol showed the sedativna and spazmolitička effects in vitro. (Shipochliev, 1981)

The pharmacokinetics of

Herbal tea is administered to rats in order to watch their liver metabolism activity phases I and II. Metabolism via CYP1A2 has significantly been reduced (p < 0.05) 39%; on the other hand the glutathione-s-transferase, CYP2D inhibitor and CYP3A was not a factor. Metabolism via the CYP3A4 may be expected with chamomile, as observed in vitro. (Maliakal, P. P. and Wanwimolruk, 2001)

Composition of metabolites of Chamomile which ekskretuju urine is very raziličita in patients. Sodium hipurae and glycine were increased in some subjects, while also observed reduced
