Flavamed 30 mg is a mucolytic medicine containing ambroxol hydrochloride. It thins thick mucus in the airways and helps it move so that it can be coughed up more easily.
It is used for acute and chronic bronchopulmonary conditions associated with abnormal mucus formation and impaired mucus transport.
The pack contains 20 tablets. Flavamed tablets are intended for adults, adolescents and children over six years and are supplied without a prescription in Serbia.
Flavamed is intended for productive cough with thick mucus. Do not automatically combine it with a medicine that suppresses the cough reflex because diluted mucus may accumulate in the airways.
Seek medical or pharmaceutical advice if symptoms become worse or do not improve within three days. Do not use for longer than four to five days without medical advice.
Flavamed tablets – dosage, administration and precautions
Dosage
- Children aged 6–12 years: half a tablet two or three times daily.
- Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over: one tablet three times daily for the first two to three days, followed by one tablet twice daily.
- Adults: when required, the dose may be increased to two tablets twice daily.
- Children under 6 years: must not use this tablet formulation.
Swallow the tablet after a meal with sufficient liquid. The score line allows it to be divided into equal doses.
Do not take a double dose after a missed dose.
Duration of treatment
Do not use for longer than four to five days without medical advice. Seek advice sooner for worsening symptoms, breathing difficulty, chest pain, high fever, blood in the sputum or recurrent cough.
Important precautions
Ask a doctor before use if you have impaired kidney function, severe liver disease, excessive bronchial mucus or reduced ability to clear secretions.
Serious skin reactions including Stevens–Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis and acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis have been reported with ambroxol. Stop treatment immediately if a progressive rash, blisters or mucosal lesions occur.
Cough suppressants
Combining ambroxol with an antitussive may reduce the cough reflex and cause mucus accumulation, particularly in patients with conditions such as cystic fibrosis or bronchiectasis.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Use during pregnancy is not recommended, particularly during the first trimester, unless medically necessary.
Ambroxol passes into breast milk, so use during breastfeeding is not recommended.
Possible side effects
- Common: nausea.
- Uncommon: vomiting, diarrhoea, indigestion, abdominal pain, fever and mucosal reactions.
- Rare: hypersensitivity, rash and hives.
- Frequency unknown: anaphylactic reaction, angioedema, itching, breathing difficulty and severe skin reactions.
- swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat;
- difficulty breathing or swallowing;
- a progressive or widespread rash;
- blisters or peeling skin;
- sores affecting the mouth, eyes, nose or genital area;
- collapse or a severe allergic reaction;
- an overdose.

Pharmacy Online has a contract with the Daily Express courier service and it is delivered on the territory of the Republic of Serbia through this service. Exports of goods to foreign countries are done through DHL and PostExport.

For goods ordered up to 5.000,00 RSD, delivery charge is 260.00 RSD (VAT included). For goods over 5.000,00 RSD, shipping is free of charge.

For the export of goods abroad through the PostExport service of Post of Serbia, the shipping price is for:
- Zone I (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia) - 1,280.00 RSD

For export of goods abroad through DHL service, the shipping price is 2,700.00 RSD. Delivery time is 1-5 business days (depending on the country of delivery)
