Dry skin vs dehydrated skin

Dry skin primarily lacks lipids and often feels rough, flaky or tight. Filaderme Emulsion is specifically designed for this type of need.

Dehydrated skin lacks water and may also be oily or combination. A hydrating serum may therefore be layered underneath Filaderme when both dehydration and dryness are present.

For dry and dehydrated skin, combining a humectant serum with a lipid-replenishing cream can provide a more complete routine.

Directions for use

1. Apply morning and/or evening to clean, dry skin on the face and neck.
2. A small amount is usually sufficient.
3. Massage gently without vigorous rubbing.
4. Pay particular attention to areas that feel tight or flaky.
5. In the morning, allow several minutes to absorb before makeup.
6. If using a hydrating serum, apply the serum first.
7. Finish the morning routine with appropriate sunscreen.

Pharmacist advice

Avoid harsh cleansers, very hot water and excessive exfoliation when the skin is already dry. A rich moisturiser cannot fully compensate if the skin barrier is repeatedly stripped during cleansing.

If the skin is both dry and dehydrated, a lightweight hydrating serum can be applied underneath Filaderme. The serum adds humectant hydration while the richer emulsion provides lipid comfort.

Dry skin often needs richer care during cold weather, central heating and frequent washing than it does during warmer months.

For eczema, atopic dermatitis, severe cracking or recurrent inflammation, Filaderme may support cosmetic skin care but should not replace prescribed dermatological treatment.

Because the formula is fragranced, fragrance-intolerant or highly reactive skin may do better with a fragrance-free alternative.
