Dehydrated skin is not the same as dry skin

Dehydrated skin primarily lacks water and can be oily, combination, normal or dry.

Dry skin primarily lacks lipids and often needs a richer emollient moisturiser in addition to a hydrating serum.

Hydra-Serum can therefore also be incorporated into routines for oily but dehydrated skin.

Directions for use

1. Apply morning and/or evening to clean, dry facial skin.
2. Use one or two pumps according to need.
3. Smooth gently over the face without aggressive rubbing.
4. It may also be applied to the neck.
5. Allow the lightweight texture to absorb.
6. Follow with your regular moisturising cream.
7. In the morning, complete the routine with appropriate sunscreen.

What does “plumping” realistically mean?

Dehydration can make fine lines and uneven texture appear more pronounced. Restoring surface moisture can temporarily make the skin look smoother and fuller.

The serum does not produce the volumising effect of an injectable dermal filler and should not be presented as a permanent wrinkle treatment.

Pharmacist advice

Do not confuse dehydration with dryness. Oily or combination skin may lack water and still benefit from a lightweight hyaluronic serum, followed by a light moisturiser.

Dry skin generally needs the serum followed by a richer emollient cream to reduce further moisture loss.

If retinoids or exfoliating acids leave the skin feeling temporarily tight or dry, a simple hydrating serum may support comfort, but it should not be used to mask significant irritation.

Fine lines caused mainly by dehydration may look softer as hydration improves. Persistent structural wrinkles require a different anti-age approach together with regular photoprotection.

Because the formula contains fragrance, people with rosacea, dermatitis or known fragrance sensitivity should introduce it cautiously.
