Why does Adidas Ice Dive shower gel give such an icy-fresh feeling?

Adidas Ice Dive is a refreshing men's shower gel with a 3-in-1 formula for the body, hair and face. It has an aquatic scent which, according to the manufacturer, is inspired by the energy of extreme sports – reminiscent of a dive into cold water.

The “icy” freshness comes from menthol, and the formula also contains sea salt. The manufacturer states that the gel is enriched with essential oils of peppermint and orange and has a moisturising 3-in-1 formula that cleanses from head to toe in one step.

Ice Dive from current production is vegan and dermatologically tested; the bottle is made from 100% recycled plastic, not counting additives, cap and label. The manufacturer is Coty (Paris) under licence from the adidas brand; the pack size is 250 ml.

How to use

Apply to healthy, wet skin and hair, work into a lather and rinse well. A very small amount is enough for the face – because of the menthol, avoid the eye area.

Who is it for?

Ice Dive suits men who like a cold, intense freshness – especially in summer, after training in the heat or for a morning shower. People who do not like a cooling sensation on the skin may prefer a gel without pronounced menthol.

Important notes

Apply only to healthy skin.
Because of the menthol, do not apply to freshly shaved or irritated skin.
If the gel gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with lukewarm water.

Pharmacist's advice:

Menthol does not lower body temperature, but it activates the cold receptors in the skin, so the refreshing sensation is real and pleasant after exertion in hot weather. On skin that has just been shaved, is cracked or sunburnt, the same effect can sting, so do not rub the gel into such areas.

Use only a very small amount for washing the face and rinse well; if your facial skin feels tight after washing, choose a separate mild cleanser for the face and keep Ice Dive for the body and hair.
