How does the TIPS Zapetak heel grip help when a shoe rubs your heel or slips off?
TIPS Zapetak is a small footwear accessory from the Soft step line of the Croatian company TIPS from Split. It is an anatomically shaped pad that sticks to the inside of the shoe heel, exactly where the back of the shoe touches the heel and the Achilles tendon.
The manufacturer recommends it for two everyday situations: when a shoe rubs and leaves pressure marks on the heel, and when a shoe is slightly too big, so the heel lifts out with every step. The heel grip fills the empty space at the back and improves how well the shoe holds the foot.
It is made of suede (velour leather), a material that, according to the manufacturer, does not damage socks or tights. The pack contains one pair, and the same heel grip fits all shoe sizes.
Key benefits:
- Self-adhesive – fitted in seconds, no sewing needed.
- Anatomically shaped to the form of the heel.
- Suede surface does not damage socks or tights.
- Helps stop oversized shoes from slipping off.
- One pair fits all shoe sizes.

How to use
Before sticking it in, make sure the inside of the shoe heel is clean and dry. First try out the position: put the shoe on and find the spot where the heel rubs or where there is a gap. Then peel the protective film off the adhesive side and press the heel grip firmly against the back of the shoe, with the smooth suede side facing the heel.
After fitting, wait a few minutes before wearing the shoe so the adhesive can bond properly. If the shoe still feels loose, with some models it helps to place the heel grip slightly higher, closer to the top edge of the heel.
Who is it for?
The heel grip is meant for anyone whose new or stiffer shoes rub the heel, and for those whose shoes, ballet flats or court shoes are a fraction too big, so the heel slips out when walking. It can be used in women's and men's shoes with a closed heel.
Important notes
- The heel grip is not stuck directly onto the skin – it is meant only for the inside of shoes.
- Cover an existing blister or wound on the heel with a suitable plaster; the heel grip does not replace protection for damaged skin.
- The adhesive grips best on smooth, clean materials; on rough or damp surfaces it may hold less well.
Pharmacist's advice:
If a shoe only rubs during the first few days until it is broken in, the heel grip is a practical way to protect the heel while the material softens. When a shoe is genuinely a whole size too big, one heel grip is usually not enough – then consider an insole that also fills the front of the shoe.
People with diabetes or reduced sensation in their feet should look at their heels after wearing new shoes, because a rubbed spot may not hurt straight away.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
1. Does one heel grip fit all shoe sizes?
Yes, the manufacturer states one pair for all sizes. The heel grip is stuck inside the back of the shoe, so its size does not depend on the shoe size.
2. Does the heel grip damage socks?
According to the manufacturer, no. It is made of suede, which is gentle on socks and tights.
3. Can the heel grip be used in shoes that are too big?
Yes – that is one of its main purposes. It fills the space at the heel and improves grip, so the shoe slips off less when walking.
4. What kind of shoes is it stuck into?
Shoes with a closed heel: shoes, ballet flats, court shoes or trainers. It is stuck on the inside, onto the back of the shoe next to the heel.
