Zao Make-Up is a makeup brand owned by Cosm'Etika France. It was founded in 2012 by four friends, David Reccole, Philippe Donnat, Ivan Rouvier and Salima Macozzi Reccole. Lovers of nature and aware of the impact of our consumption on the environment, 4 friends decided to develop an organic makeup brand in line with their deep values. They gave birth to Zao Make-Up, the first refillable make-up brand, 100% natural and organic certified by Ecocert. The inspiration came from Asian countries that one of the founders, David Reccole, has always been passionate about. A traveler by nature, he traveled to India, Vietnam and China...The idea was born from a friend in Taiwan who one day offered him a box containing a mechanical pencil and a bamboo pencil. Seeing these two cylindrical objects with such thin walls, he had a brain wave! If it is possible to make a pencil, it is possible to make lipsticks and other bamboo packaging for makeup. After returning from Asia, 4 friends were struck with an idea and the adventure of Zao began…

Zao Make-Up is dedicated to providing make-up products with impeccable formulas with 100% naturally derived ingredients*. Without petrochemical derivatives or synthetic preservatives, Zao products are healthy for your skin. Our raw materials are obtained through a non-polluting and simple transformation of plants or minerals such as plant extracts, vegetable oils and butters, mineral pigments... Thanks to our ecological and ethical commitments, in 2014 we received the "Slov Cosmetic" mention. The quality of our raw materials is also of utmost importance. That's why we are always looking for new natural ingredients that will guarantee you the best. Among these ingredients is micronized silver powder, which, in addition to being an excellent preservative for the skin, has incredible antiseptic properties. Although it is very expensive, we have decided to use it in almost all of our products.
