  • complaints after conservative or extractive dental procedures (e.g. caries removal or tooth extraction)

The spray is intended for patients who have difficulty gargling.

How is it used and dosed?

The medicine is sprayed directly onto the affected area in the mouth or throat. The recommended dose must not be exceeded.

  • Adolescents over 12 years and adults: 4–8 sprays, 2 to 6 times a day.
  • Children aged 6 to 12 years: 4 sprays, 2 to 6 times a day.
  • Children aged 3 to 6 years: 1 spray per 4 kg of body weight, 2 to 6 times a day, no more than 4 sprays per application.
  • Before first use, press the pump several times until an even spray appears; hold the bottle upright, raise the nozzle to a 90° angle and direct it at the application site.
  • Do not eat or drink immediately after use, as this may reduce the effectiveness of the medicine.
  • Use for a short time only; if there is no improvement after 3 days or the condition worsens, consult a doctor.

  • Tell your doctor if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid or other anti-inflammatory medicines, or if you have had bronchial asthma.
  • Prolonged use of benzydamine may lead to sensitisation; in that case stop using it and consult a doctor.
  • The medicine contains methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (may cause immediate or delayed allergic reactions) and mint flavour with anisyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, D-limonene, linalool and eugenol, which may cause allergic reactions.

Pharmacist's advice

The spray is practical when gargling is difficult – e.g. in children from 3 years or people with a very sore throat. Spray it directly onto the painful area and do not eat or drink immediately afterwards, so the medicine is not washed away from where it acts.

Brief numbness or mild burning after use are expected. In children aged 3 to 6 years the number of sprays depends on body weight (1 spray per 4 kg, maximum 4) – check the child's weight before use.
