SOREFIX Rescue Cream 6 ml is intended for the treatment of cold sores during all four stages of development—from the first tingling and itching sensation to blisters, an open sore, scab formation and complete healing. Its transparent formula, based on a patented zinc complex, forms a protective barrier, cares for the lips and does not make the affected area appear more visible.

SOREFIX Rescue helps relieve initial tingling, reduce blister formation, shorten healing time and prevent painful cracking of the scab. The cream contains natural oils, vitamin E and SPF 30, which helps protect the lips from sunlight and UV radiation—common triggers for recurring cold sores.

Main benefits of SOREFIX Rescue Cream

  • Suitable for use during all four stages of a cold sore.
  • Relieves initial tingling, itching and tightness.
  • Helps reduce the formation and visibility of blisters.
  • Supports a shorter healing period.
  • Helps prevent dryness and painful cracking of the scab.
  • Forms a protective, moisturising barrier on the lips.
  • Contains SPF 30 for additional protection from UV radiation.
  • Transparent formula does not make the cold sore appear more noticeable.
  • Suitable for adults and children from four years of age.

Action during all four stages of a cold sore

Stage 1 – tingling and itching
Applying the cream at the first signs may help relieve tingling, itching, tightness and discomfort in the area where the cold sore is developing.

Stage 2 – blister formation
The zinc-based protective formula helps reduce the severity of blisters and protects the sensitive lip area from additional external irritation.

Stage 3 – open sore
The cream forms a protective barrier, keeps the affected area cared for and supports a shorter healing time.

Stage 4 – scab and recovery
The oil-based, moisturising formula helps keep the scab more flexible and reduces the risk of painful cracking and renewed bleeding.

How does SOREFIX Rescue work?

The formula contains a combination of zinc oxide and zinc ricinoleate. Zinc helps protect the affected surface and supports the skin’s natural renewal process, while the oil-based formula creates a protective barrier that reduces dryness.

Jojoba oil, shea butter, pomegranate seed oil and vitamin E additionally nourish and soften the lips. SPF 30 helps protect against UV radiation, which may trigger the reactivation of cold sores in some people.

Important: SOREFIX Rescue is a medical device that forms a protective barrier and helps relieve cold sore symptoms. It is not an antiviral medicine and does not remove the herpes simplex virus from the body.

Pharmacist’s advice

The best results are expected when SOREFIX Rescue is applied immediately at the first signs of tingling, itching or tightness, before pronounced blisters develop. Continue using the product throughout all stages, but do not pick the scab, as this may delay healing and cause bleeding.

Cold sores are contagious from the first symptoms until the affected area has completely healed. Avoid unnecessary touching, do not share glasses, cutlery, towels, lip balms or lipsticks, and avoid kissing and oral contact while the cold sore is active.

A person with an active cold sore should not kiss a baby, especially a newborn. Wash your hands immediately after touching the affected area and avoid touching your eyes, as the virus may spread to other parts of the body.

Consult a doctor if the cold sore is close to the eye, is very large or painful, lasts longer than two weeks, recurs frequently or if you have a weakened immune system.
