ERBE 91081 are cuticle scissors 9 cm long with a Kullenblatt blade, from the ERBE collection by Becker in Solingen. The product sheet describes them as scissors with a fine, pointed and curved cutting edge, designed for precise and gentle work next to the nail.

They are made of long-life forged special steel with a nickel coating. The pressure between the blades is set with a fine-adjustment screw, and according to the manufacturer the blades are sharpened by hand by master grinders. They are made in Solingen, Germany.

The same shape also exists in a stainless steel (Inox) version under code 91080 – that is a different item. We did not find an EAN for code 91081 in the sources we checked.

How to use

Use the scissors on clean, softened skin, for example after a shower. Before first use, check the action of the blades: they should close smoothly without any play.

Turn the curved side of the blades towards the nail so that it follows the nail edge.
Snip off only the lifted tip of the hangnail in one short movement, without pulling the skin.
Do not cut the cuticle at the base of the nail – the AAD advises leaving it alone, as it protects the nail root.
If the blades start to spread apart or feel stiff, correct the pressure with the screw in the joint, turning it only a little.
After use, wipe the scissors, dry them completely and store them in a dry place.

Who is it for?

For adults who look after their own fingernails and want scissors that can be finely adjusted. Suitable for people who get hangnails along the side edges of the nail because of dry skin.
