How does the Pino Numbers puzzle connect number and quantity?

The Pino puzzle Numbers (Serbian name Slagalica Brojevi, item number 4515, EAN 8606009255032) is a wooden puzzle from the Serbian brand Pino with the first ten numbers. According to the maker it has 20 pieces and a sturdy wooden tray, and it measures 30 x 22.5 x 1 cm.

In the Numbers puzzle the child joins two parts: a number and an illustration with the matching number of items. Pino states that by mechanically and visually joining the two parts of the puzzle the child connects the number of items with the digit, and the retailer eci-pec adds that each number has its own opening in the tray.

The Numbers puzzle is made of natural wood and painted with water-based paints, with rounded corners. The maker recommends it for ages 3–6 years; it is made in China, and the importer is JAMAX M d.o.o. Čačak.

How to play and care

To start with the Numbers puzzle, use only the numbers 1 to 3 and add the rest once the child reliably joins number and quantity.

Before joining, let the child count the items in the illustration with a finger and only then look for the number that goes with it.

Wipe the pieces and the tray of puzzle 4515 with a dry or slightly damp cloth and keep them dry.

Who is it for?

The Pino Numbers puzzle 4515 is meant for children aged 3 to 6 years, according to the maker, who are getting to know their first numbers and quantities.

Important notes

The pieces of the Numbers puzzle are small parts – children under 3 years should not play with them unsupervised.
If one of the 20 pieces of puzzle 4515 gets lost, a number–quantity pair stays incomplete; so put the pieces back in the tray after play.

Pharmacist's advice:

Counting with the Numbers puzzle is easy to carry over into everyday life: after play, let the child count, for example, the spoons on the table or the stairs and then find the same number among the pieces of 4515. That way number and quantity are not tied to the picture only.
