Paranit Head Lice and Nit Treatment Shampoo, 200 ml with fine-tooth comb, is a medical device intended for treating head-lice infestation in adults and children over two years of age. It is applied directly to dry hair, left in place for 10 minutes and then lathered with water, allowing the hair to be treated and washed during the same procedure.
The formula contains no conventional insecticides. It works through a physical mechanism that coats, suffocates and dehydrates head lice and nits, which means that lice cannot develop conventional resistance to its ingredients. The supplied fine-tooth comb supports thorough mechanical removal of lice and nits.

How does Paranit Shampoo work?
Paranit Shampoo uses a dual physical mechanism. Mineral oil coats the lice and nits, interferes with their essential functions and contributes to their suffocation and dehydration.
Because it does not act through a neurotoxic insecticide, lice cannot develop conventional resistance to its mode of action. Successful treatment still requires sufficient product, complete coverage of the scalp and hair, the full treatment time and careful combing.
Particular attention should be paid to the hair roots, the nape and the area behind the ears. Nits remain firmly attached to the hair shaft, so they should be removed mechanically even after the treatment has been performed correctly.
Who is the product intended for?
Adults and children over two years of age in whom live head lice have been found. The shampoo is intended for treating confirmed head-lice infestation and should not be used preventively when no lice have been detected.
Directions for use and precautions
- Check the hair: use the supplied fine-tooth comb to examine the dry hair of all household members, particularly at the nape and behind the ears.
- Shake the bottle: shake well before use.
- Apply to dry hair: use a generous amount to cover the entire scalp and hair completely.
- Massage thoroughly: distribute the shampoo from the roots to the ends, paying particular attention to the nape and behind the ears.
- Leave for 10 minutes: do not shorten the recommended treatment time.
- Add water: after 10 minutes, add enough water to produce a lather, wash thoroughly and rinse completely.
- Comb the wet hair: divide the hair into small sections and comb each section from the roots towards the ends.
- Clean the comb: remove lice and nits from the teeth after each section.
- Check again: examine the hair after seven days and repeat treatment if live lice are found or as directed in the supplied leaflet.
Important information and warnings
- For external use only.
- Do not use in children under two years of age.
- Do not use in people allergic to fragrance or another ingredient.
- Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, nose and other mucous membranes.
- If the product enters the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Stop treatment and wash the hair with ordinary shampoo if rash, pronounced redness, irritation or sensitivity develops.
- Itching, flaking or mild irritation of the scalp, neck, ears or eye area may occur.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women should seek medical or pharmaceutical advice before use.
- Keep the hair away from fire, cigarettes, naked flames and sources of ignition during application and until the product has been fully rinsed out.
- Do not use on a severely injured, inflamed or infected scalp without professional advice.
- Store in a dry place at room temperature and keep out of the reach of children.
