What is Tribulus terrestris?

Tribulus terrestris L. is a plant from the Zygophyllaceae family naturally found in warm and dry regions of Europe, Asia, Africa and other parts of the world. It is used in botanical supplements because of its characteristic phytochemical compounds, including saponins.

Tribulus became particularly popular as an ingredient in supplements aimed at athletes and male vitality. Product quality, however, should be evaluated according to the clearly stated extract amount and standardization rather than marketing claims alone.

What does 90% saponin standardization mean?

Standardization means that a defined proportion of specific botanical compounds is declared in the extract.

Each capsule provides 1000 mg of Tribulus terrestris extract, of which 90%, or 900 mg, is declared as saponins.

Importantly, “90% saponins” describes the composition of the extract. It does not mean a 90% increase in testosterone, libido, muscle mass or any other physiological parameter.
