How to choose and apply
- For the beach and strong sun choose SPF 30 or higher, and SPF 50+ for fair and sensitive skin
- Check the UVA protection mark on the pack – it is especially important for sun allergy
- An adult needs about six full teaspoons of sunscreen for the whole body
- Reapply every two hours and after swimming
- With sun allergy, increase exposure gradually from the start of the season
When to ask a doctor or pharmacist
- if a sun rash appears every year or keeps getting worse
- if you take medicines that increase sun sensitivity (some antibiotics, diuretics, topical painkillers) – ask a pharmacist
- facial swelling, blisters or a rash that does not clear after several days out of the sun
Pharmacist’s adviceWith sun allergy, the best results come from a light, non-greasy texture with high UVA protection, applied before every exposure, and gradually getting the skin used to the sun at the start of summer. Apply sunscreen 15 to 30 minutes before going out and do not forget ears, neck, lower legs and feet. |
