What is NOW Chlorella 1000 mg and how do you take it?

NOW Chlorella 1000 mg is a dietary supplement in tablet form made from chlorella (Chlorella spp.), a green, single-celled freshwater microalga. Each tablet contains 1000 mg of chlorella, and the recommended daily serving of three tablets provides 3 g of chlorella.

The cell wall of the chlorella used in this product is mechanically broken, which the manufacturer states improves its digestibility. According to NOW Foods, chlorella naturally contains chlorophyll, beta-carotene and mixed carotenoids, vitamin C, iron and protein, which is why it is often called a "super green". The amounts of these naturally occurring nutrients are not declared on the label.
