Is Kosili Baby Soap Blue Original suitable for bathing a baby from birth?

Kosili Baby Soap Original in the blue pack is a classic 75 g bar soap from the Ultra Sensitive line. The manufacturer states that it is intended for daily hygiene and suited even to very sensitive skin, and that its pleasant scent and mild formula make it suitable for bathing a baby from birth.

The soap contains lanolin and glycerin. According to the manufacturer, the mild formulation helps keep the baby's skin from drying out and leaves it soft, and after washing a thin layer remains on the skin that gives a smooth, gentle feel.

The soap is made in Turkey for Lomax Company from Subotica, Serbia, owner of the Kosili brand. The small format is practical for the bathroom, nursery or changing bag.

How to use

Wet the soap with water, work up a lather and apply it to the skin with a gentle massage, then rinse the skin well. Keep the soap in a dry, ventilated place, away from heat and light – ideally in a draining soap dish so that it does not soften.

Who is it for?

It is intended for babies and children for daily washing and bathing, and for other family members with sensitive skin who want a mild soap. For babies with atopic dermatitis or very dry skin, paediatricians often recommend soap-free cleansers – in that case, consult your doctor.

Important notes

Avoid contact with the eyes; if soap gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Contains lanolin – do not use in case of a known lanolin allergy.

The best-before date is stamped on the pack.

For a baby it is enough to soap only the parts of the body that get dirty – hands, neck folds, groin and nappy area – while the rest of the skin can often be washed with water alone. This reduces drying, especially in winter.

After washing with soap, rinse the skin thoroughly, because soap residues in skin folds can irritate. If you notice that the skin feels tight or flakes after bathing, apply a body lotion and use soap less often.
