Milgamma 100, 100 mg/100 mg, coated tablets is a medicine containing benfotiamine and pyridoxine hydrochloride, active substances related to vitamins B1 and B6. Each coated tablet contains 100 mg of benfotiamine and 100 mg of pyridoxine hydrochloride.
The medicine is intended for the treatment of systemic neurological disorders caused by a confirmed deficiency of vitamins B1 and B6. Milgamma 100 is available in packs of 30 and 60 coated tablets. The composition and strength of the tablets are the same in both pack sizes; only the number of tablets in the box differs.

What is Milgamma 100 used for?
Milgamma 100 is used for the treatment of systemic neurological disorders caused by a confirmed deficiency of vitamins B1 and B6.
This medicine is not intended for self-treatment of every type of pain, tingling, burning, numbness or other neurological symptoms. The cause of the symptoms and the need for treatment should be assessed by a doctor.
How is Milgamma 100 taken?
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
According to the official package leaflet, unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the recommended dose for adults is one coated tablet daily. In acute cases, after assessing the patient, the doctor may increase the dose to one coated tablet three times daily.
The tablet should be swallowed with a sufficient amount of liquid. Patients should not increase the dose or extend the duration of treatment on their own.
Treatment review: After no more than four weeks, the doctor should assess whether the increased dose is still necessary. Whenever possible, the dose should be reduced to one tablet daily in order to reduce the risk of neuropathy associated with prolonged use of vitamin B6.
The dose and duration of treatment may depend on the patient’s medical condition, age, confirmed vitamin deficiency, other medicines being used and the doctor’s assessment.
Use in children and adolescents
There are insufficient data on the use of Milgamma 100 in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Therefore, the medicine is not used in this age group.
When must Milgamma 100 not be used?
The medicine must not be used by people who are allergic to benfotiamine, thiamine, pyridoxine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.
Because it contains sucrose, the medicine should not be used by patients with certain rare inherited disorders affecting the tolerance or absorption of sugars, unless otherwise assessed by a doctor.
Warnings and precautions
Before starting treatment, tell your doctor or pharmacist about any medical conditions you have and all medicines, vitamins or supplements you use.
Long-term use of vitamin B6 in high doses, particularly for periods longer than six months, may cause peripheral sensory neuropathy, which is damage to the peripheral nerves.
Contact your doctor: If tingling, burning, numbness, altered sensation in the hands or feet, or other unusual neurological symptoms occur or worsen during treatment, do not increase the dose or extend the treatment on your own.
Interactions with other medicines

- Levodopa, because vitamin B6 may affect its action;
- hydralazine, isoniazid, D-penicillamine or cycloserine;
- 5-fluorouracil, because it may affect thiamine;
- oral contraceptives containing oestrogen;
- other medicines, vitamins or supplements containing vitamin B6.
Long-term alcohol consumption may also be associated with vitamin B6 deficiency. Do not change or stop any other treatment without consulting your doctor.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Because of the high doses of the active substances, Milgamma 100 may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding only in cases of a confirmed deficiency of vitamins B1 and B6 and when the doctor considers treatment necessary.
Vitamins B1 and B6 pass into breast milk. High doses of vitamin B6 may reduce milk production. The decision to use this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding must be made by a doctor after assessing the expected benefits and possible risks.
Driving and using machines
According to the official package leaflet, Milgamma 100 has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Milgamma 100 can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Very rare side effects, which may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people, include:
- hypersensitivity reactions;
- rash or hives;
- a serious allergic reaction or shock;
- nausea and other gastrointestinal problems.
Side effects with an unknown frequency:
- peripheral sensory neuropathy, particularly with prolonged use of high doses of vitamin B6.
Seek urgent medical help: If you experience difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, severe weakness, a sudden drop in blood pressure or other signs of a serious allergic reaction, stop taking the medicine and seek immediate medical assistance.

What should you do if you take more than you should?
Very high doses of vitamin B6 may cause neurotoxic effects. Extremely high doses may lead to seizures and other serious symptoms.
