EXCELLA GMBH

Excella GmbH is a German pharmaceutical company based in Feucht (near Nuremberg), specializing in the development and production of medicines and pharmaceutical substances. Their activities include:

synthesis and production of active pharmaceutical substances (API) — including highly potent substances,

development and production of finished medicines in the form of tablets and capsules,

complete process: from development and scale-up, through production, to packaging and quality control.

Excella is part of the FAREVA international group, which gives it access to global resources and standards.

The company is particularly known for its expertise in "high containment" production — ie. working with substances and drugs that require high safety standards (eg cytotoxic drugs, drugs with low permissible exposure).

Although part of a large pharmaceutical chain, Excella does not sell drugs under its own brand — it operates as a contract manufacturer (CDMO). In other words, it prepares and produces drugs and substances for other pharmaceutical companies, not its own brands.
