DR. PAVLOVIC

The original Pavlović Ointment was born out of the need to rehabilitate, care for and protect the skin of children after the Second World War. Dr. Živorad Pavlović, a pediatrician, experimented for about two years in the state pharmacy in Zvezdara (Belgrade), with different ingredients, until finally in 1947 he came up with a recipe, which ultimately proved to be effective.

Soon, other pharmacies in Belgrade accepted this recipe, and due to its demonstrated effectiveness, the Health Fund approved it as a master medicine at the time, so mothers and parents received it for free. The Fund had such treatment until 1970, and then it was charged in pharmacies. Until then, it was spread all over Serbia, as well as in Yugoslavia at the time. During his lifetime, Dr. Žika Pavlović did not protect his recipe.
