What is vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency in children most often causes non-specific symptoms such as a delay in the development of organs and organ systems, anorexia, irritability, neurological problems and weakness. However, in addition to this type of symptom development, in the case of vitamin B12 deficiency, in the most severe cases, megaloblastic anemia and severe neurological disorders can also develop.
Vitamin B12 supplementation contributes to:
-normal functioning of the brain and nervous system
- normal psychological functions
- normal growth and development
- normal formation of red blood cells and adequate cell division
- preventing the appearance of a special form of anemia - pernicious anemia
- normal function of the immune system
-normal homocysteine metabolism
- normal energy metabolism, i.e. reduction of fatigue and exhaustion
- as support for the treatment of gastrointestinal tract diseases with reduced resorption of vitamin B12
- normal function and maintenance of the integrity of epithelial cells.
In the first year of life, the amount of vitamin B12 depends on its amount in the mother's body during pregnancy. After birth, there is 25 g in the liver, which is enough for the first year of a newborn's life. For this reason, problems related to vitamin B12 deficiency in the mother can affect the level of this vitamin in the newborn. According to literature data, the greatest increase in the level of vitamin B12 in children occurs from 6 months to the growth period of 3-7 years of age.
Way of use:
Children over 4 years of age - apply one dose of spray to the child directly in the mouth once a day. Shake the bottle with the contents before use. The recommended daily intake (PDU) for vitamin B12 for adults (over 14 years) is 2.5 µg. Using the recommended daily dose of 1 spray directly into the mouth of the B12 Kinder product spray, the oral spray provides 3.0 µg of vitamin B12, which is 120.0% of the PDU (recommended daily intake) for vitamin B12.
