SOLGAR COMFORT ZONE DIGESTIVE COMPLEX promotes the natural process of digestion in the body and reduces flatulence and nausea.

The plant-based enzymes used in this blend are effective over a wider pH range than animal enzymes and aid in the digestion of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, fibers and dairy products. It contains enzymes for digesting carbohydrates such as amylase, pectinase/phytase, invertase, maltase and alpha galactosidase. Alpha galactosidase specifically helps break down fermentable carbohydrates and thus helps reduce bloating. Protease SP, bromelain and papain facilitate the digestion of food proteins. Papain also aids in the digestion of the gliadin components of gluten, thus strengthening resistance to gluten in the diet. In addition to helping with protein digestion, bromelain is also thought to prevent harmful bacteria from sticking to the walls of the small intestine. The lipase enzyme helps break down fat molecules into fatty acids and glycerol. Fiber is present in plants like kale and cabbage and cannot be digested by humans. By adding cellulose to the complex, the breakdown of fiber-rich food is accelerated. Lactose is a sugar present in milk and milk products, and lactase is an enzyme that breaks down lactose into glucose and galactose by hydrolysis. Most women produce a smaller amount of lactase after breastfeeding, which can cause indigestion after consuming dairy products. The addition of lactase facilitates digestion in people who are lactose intolerant. CUMIN (Cuminum cyminum) In a study conducted in 2009, cumin extract alleviated the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome such as stomach pain, bloating and the presence of mucus in the stool. It is also thought to protect the colon from carcinogens by reducing the activity of beta glucuronidase and mucinase. FENNEL (Foeniculum vulgare) Fennel contributes to digestion and the health of the digestive tract. It contains the compound anethole and reduces spasms in smooth muscles. CAMOMILE (Matricaria recutita) Chamomile is traditionally used to relieve indigestion, ulcers and spasms. It contains camazulene and bisabolol which reduce inflammation. Stress and anxiety are closely related to digestive disorders, and chamomile is known for its anxiolytic effects. GINGER (Zingiber officinale) In addition to protecting the gastric mucosa, ginger accelerates gastric emptying and promotes the secretion of bile, thus helping in the digestion of fat. ANISE (Pimpinella anisum) Anise has an antioxidant effect that helps prevent ulcers by protecting the lining of the stomach and is also traditionally used to relieve flatulence.
