One capsule provides a high dose of 8 mg of biotin. High-dose biotin can interfere with certain laboratory tests and produce falsely high or falsely low results.

Tests that may be affected include certain thyroid-hormone assays, troponin tests used when a heart attack is suspected, some sex-hormone tests, vitamin D tests and other assays using biotin-streptavidin technology.

Always inform the doctor and laboratory staff that you take Biotin-8 before having blood tests. Do not independently decide how long to stop the supplement; follow the specific instructions of the doctor or laboratory.

In cases of chest pain, chest pressure, shortness of breath or suspected heart problems, immediately tell healthcare professionals that you take biotin because a falsely low troponin result may complicate urgent assessment.

The product is not a treatment for hair loss, alopecia, dermatitis, diabetes or neurological disease. It cannot guarantee faster hair growth or stop hair shedding in people without biotin deficiency.

Do not combine it without checking with other hair, skin and nail products that already contain biotin. Review multivitamins, collagen formulas, B-complex supplements and prenatal products.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women and people with chronic illness or regular medication should consult a doctor before using such a high amount.

Mild digestive discomfort or an individual hypersensitivity reaction may occur. Stop use if a rash, swelling or another unusual reaction develops.

The product is not intended for children.

Biotin-8 provides substantially more biotin than the usual daily nutritional requirement. It should therefore not automatically be recommended to every person experiencing hair shedding without first considering whether high-dose supplementation is appropriate.

With pronounced or sudden hair loss, a blood count, ferritin, thyroid function and other parameters may need to be checked according to medical advice. Round bald patches, itching, redness, sores or scarring of the scalp require dermatological assessment.
