SCHOLL - page 3
Back in 1904, Dr. William Mathias Scholl set out his life mission to make people happy by providing them with health and comfort. He decided to start with his feet.
With the advancement of technology, he began to innovate in the field of foot care, and we inherited from him knowledge, dedication and the will to improve.
With our long-standing foot care heritage and UK Athletics sponsors, we intend to prove to Scholl product users that they get the best out of us. That's why we made the Scholl team. The team includes Dr. Phil Vasili, creator of Scholl Orto Pete, and the Center for Rehabilitation and Research of Human Work of Salford University, which is one of the leading research bodies in podiatry.
The medical and scientific experts who make up today's Scholl team continue to share Dr. Scholl's passion for understanding the structure and biomechanics of the foot in correlation with the whole body. They take inspiration from his insight and remain determined to recognize problems, seek solutions and develop new products, which are consistent with Dr. Scholl’s original philosophy.
History
Seventeen-year-old Willam M. Scholl was surprised by the number of people suffering from painful foot ailments, so with the desire to better understand them and help them, he enrolled in medical school.
William was still a medical student when he created his first amazing invention, the Foot-Easer. Designed to correct weakness in the arch of the foot, he launched this product into the world in 1904, soon after he became a doctor at the age of 22. Foot-Easer was in preparation to become one of the most successful foot care products.
He decided to team up with his brother, Frank, to make medical and pillow aids, which he would later use for the whole spectrum of common foot diseases.
Dr. William was not only a prolific inventor, but he was also a dedicated teacher and author, responsible for many significant events in the history of foot care.
