WHAT IS GLUTATHIONE?

Chemically, glutathione is a tripeptide, a molecule containing 3 amino acids – glutamine, glycine and cysteine. Glutathione is present in all our cells, and it is most abundant in liver cells and lung parenchyma, because these are the tissues that are most exposed to toxins from the external environment. There are about 30 grams of glutathione in the whole organism, and our tissues consume about 3 grams per day.
