Urinalysis, urine culture and appropriate medical assessment are important before prolonged use to exclude infection, stones, gynaecological or urological disease and other possible causes.

Cysturol is a dietary supplement and not a medicine for bacterial cystitis, urinary tract infection, interstitial cystitis, overactive bladder, urinary stones or another urological condition.

It does not replace urinalysis, urine culture, ultrasound, urological assessment, antibiotics or another prescribed treatment.

Consult a healthcare practitioner before use if you have a history of kidney stones, a gastrointestinal ulcer or lesion, a bleeding disorder, chronic kidney or liver disease or planned surgery.

Caution is required with anticoagulant and antiplatelet medicines, including warfarin, aspirin and clopidogrel, because bromelain may affect bleeding risk.

Check compatibility with antibiotics, particularly fluoroquinolones such as ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin, and with regular anti-inflammatory medication.

Do not use in cases of a known allergy to any ingredient. Take particular care with pineapple allergy because of bromelain, papaya allergy because of papain or cranberry allergy.

Possible adverse effects include nausea, gastrointestinal discomfort, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, temporary tingling or an allergic reaction. Stop use if a rash, swelling, difficulty breathing or another pronounced reaction occurs.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use. The product is not intended for children.

Seek urgent medical attention in cases of high temperature with chills, flank or back pain, blood in the urine, vomiting, inability to urinate or a sudden worsening of symptoms.

Interstitial cystitis and bacterial bladder infection may produce similar symptoms but require different approaches. Bacterial infection usually requires urinalysis and urine culture, while painful bladder syndrome involves persistent symptoms without confirmed infection or another identifiable cause.

Take Cysturol regularly with meals. A diary of symptoms, fluid intake, urinary frequency and foods or drinks that worsen discomfort can be useful. Coffee, alcohol, carbonated drinks and strongly spicy or acidic foods may irritate a sensitive bladder in some people.

Consult a urologist or another appropriate specialist if symptoms persist, become worse or do not improve after several weeks. Supplement use should not delay an accurate diagnosis.
