According to the manufacturer Waterpik, this kind of jet helps remove food debris and plaque from between the teeth and below the gumline, where a toothbrush reaches less easily (manufacturer’s statement).

The manufacturer recommends replacing tips regularly, usually every 3 to 6 months depending on the type of tip – replace tips with bristles more often.

Care and hygiene of your water flosser

• Empty the reservoir after each use and leave it to dry
• Use lukewarm water; add mouthwash only if the manufacturer’s instructions allow it, and rinse the device with clean water after use
• Clean the reservoir and tips from time to time according to the instructions to prevent limescale and residue from building up
• Charge cordless models according to the instructions and do not immerse them in water
• Do not share tips with other people
